Does anyone remember the Juicy Couture Sunrise Tote that I wrote about back in March? After what seemed like the longest winter on record, I was ready to start thinking about beach totes. I mean, what better way to get yourself revved up for those warm and sunny months? Now I’m not saying that my feelings have changed about the Juicy Couture Sunrise Tote. It is still a really cute bag! But I recently came across this newer bag from Juicy Couture called the Coastal Butterfly Tote and… oh… my… gosh! What an adorable bag! I am in love with the vertical, pink and white striping. I could totally see myself sporting this bag at the beach for Memorial Day weekend. I also love the large butterfly graphic adorning the front side of this bag.

Bag Trends: Nylon!
July 28th, 2010All my life, I’ve been a devotee to leather handbags. Only straying to fabric bags for the good old diaper bag or beach bag and perhaps a utilitarian tote. I turned up my nose at canvas, satin, nylon and other non-leather bags. Oh, yes! I was a snob about Prada nylon too! I now have to apologize, admit I was small-minded and must re-frame my opinions! There are so many great new (and durable) fabrics in handbags that deserve a second look. Designers that were entrenched in leather now embrace nylon and other materials. It could be that they were simply looking for less expensive alternatives than leather or even more eco-friendly materials, but I believe they’d made some great design choices as well!

Yves Saint Laurent Muse
Yes, the classic Muse bag is now available in nylon! Same great shape and style for $1195. The leather version is $1550. Not a significant different, but it looks great just the same! Perhaps you can pick up a great pair of sandals for the difference?

French Connection Solar Clutch
July 28th, 2010
The fun thing about a clutch is that you can carry one as loud as your style desires, without looking like a total mess. Compared to a loud day bag, that could take the appearance of beach wear or might come off as too juvenile. Instead, show off the sassy chic in you by busting out a loud and unexpected colorful clutch that is the perfect size to sport with your everyday or even formal wear. The Solar Clutch by French Connection reminds me of something you can find at a stationary or a bathroom décor section of a store, but regardless, it’s adorable.
Louis Vuitton Artsy MM
July 28th, 2010
By now, most of you out there are probably familiar with the “new” tribal look for Summer 2010. Just recently, I provided a very colorful description of the look when I introduced the JADEtribe Nina Clutch. And although that clutch is an excellent example of the “typical” tribal accessory, it doesn’t mean that that is the only way of going about it. What I find really intriguing is how big fashion houses have found ways to incorporate elements of the tribal look into some of their own pieces, while still staying true to their own style. A great example of this is the Louis Vuitton Artsy MM, which made its debut a few months ago.
Bottega Veneta Braided Leather Hobo
July 28th, 2010
Luxury fashion leader Bottega Veneta has got something more than a luscious oversized hobo this season. It’s called the Braided Leather Hobo, and its appearance is quite unusual compared to their other classic releases. The Italian house presents this grained leather bag that lacks the infamous braiding throughout, but instead, the detailing is found at its edges. Opened at the top for quick access to your essentials and containing a single leather shoulder strap for comfort carrying, Veneta really lives up to its name with there everyday hobos.
Katherine Kwei’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collection
July 28th, 2010Katherine Kwei’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collection is here! And, I must say, these new additions are gorgeous! There really is something for everyone in this collection, whether you’re looking for the latest spin on one of her classic styles or something no one has ever laid eyes on before. These bags offer the perfect accent to any summer style, with season-appropriate colors and textures. Nothing screams “summer” like a white or off-white handbag! And, of course, Katherine Kwei has continued to stick with what she does best by incorporating her Chinese “Eternity” knot-inspired weave into each of her designs. That is one feature I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of! And now, without further ado, here are some of my favorites from the Spring/Summer 2010 Collection! Enjoy!

Donna Batik Clutch
The Donna Clutch has been around since the Autumn/Winter 2007 Collection and it’s still going strong! What I like about this latest version is the hand-dyed, black and white lambskin. It gives the clutch such a unique look! And, oddly enough, it reminds me of Alexander McQueen (just a little bit).

Coach ‘Poppy Is Glam’ Tote
July 28th, 2010
Its official, Team Coach has hired some poets to join their design team. From observing the finishing product, I’m not sure what to think about the “Poppy Is Glam” tote. Sure it’s creative, and some bagista’s don’t mind carrying scribbles and logos on their handbags. But somehow, I don’t see much artistic feel to this tote; it appears to look more like a cut-magazine-letters-and-paste-on-a-bag, project. When you’re carry a tote with letters around, you’re bound to attract some readers, and the poetic inscription of “Poppy is a girl, is a flower, is a state of mind, Poppy is now and forever, Poppy is love I am Poppy”, isn’t necessarily the brightest statement most would want to advertise.
Designer Social: The Socially Acceptable Way to Buy and Sell Amazing Handbags!

I can’t believe how thrilled I am to find the Designer Social marketplace! We have all been using eBay for so long now, with a lowering levels of satisfaction. Yet, it’s benefits still outweighed it’s problems. Enter Designer Social.

Laudi Vidni Handbags: Thinking Outside the Label (Part 2: Product Review!)
July 28th, 2010Does anyone recall a little company called Laudi Vidni? If you are a regular Bag Bliss reader, then you probably remember a review I did about the company’s website and ordering process (if you don’t remember, you can check it out here!). And I bet you all have been wondering what the heck happened with that! Haha! Well, let me tell you, it has been quite an adventure! Not long after writing my review, I decided to order the Pavan Satchel in the Storm premium leather. So what exactly happened with that? Long story short, I hated the bag once I got it! Remember the ruching at the top of the bag that I “absolutely adored”? It turned out that the leather was actually threaded onto a stiff metal rod (think curtain rod) in order to achieve the look. Needless to say, the bag was very awkward against the side of my body. So what did I do? I returned it, of course! Lucky for me, the ladies there at Laudi Vidni were very understanding. Now just throw in a trip abroad and an extremely hectic Spring semester at school and.. ta-da! An explanation for the huge time lapse! But, hey, better late than never! Right?

So after much consideration, I finally settled on the Brio Clutch to replace my Pavan Satchel! It is chic, simple, and sophisticated. Plus the square turnlock clasp looks so cool in the picture. For the body of the clutch, I chose the Silver Croc premium leather. As for the contrasting stripe, I went with the Metallic Patent Indigo. And the panel on the turnlock? I thought the Smooth Grain Canal added a nice little touch! Once I had made my selections, I eagerly placed my order and waited for my new Brio Clutch to arrive on my doorstep!
And… here… it… is!
